Eleven El Paso students across seven school districts receive scholarships as CREEED continues investing in educational attainment and future educators

El Paso, TX – CREEED has awarded $27,500 in scholarships to 11 outstanding high school seniors in El Paso through its F.A.S.T. Rising College Scholarship and Excelencia Scholarship for Future Educators programs. This year’s class is the largest to date, reflecting both the growing talent and aspirations of El Paso students and CREEED’s continued commitment to expanding access to higher education.
Both programs reflect CREEED’s longstanding commitment to advancing college and career readiness, celebrating academic excellence, and investing in the next generation of leaders who will shape El Paso’s future.
2026 F.A.S.T. Rising College Scholarship Recipients:

- Ricardo Puentes-Guzman, San Elizario ISD
- Darey Nunez, Tornillo ISD
Excelencia Scholarship for Future Educators Recipients:
- Ruth Mayorga, Burnham Wood
- Andrew Orona, Canutillo ISD
- Imani Escamilla, El Paso ISD
- Yeira Lechuga, Fabens ISD
- Amir Torres, Ysleta ISD
- Matias Lopez, San Elizario ISD
- Chloe Gutierrez, Ysleta ISD
“This year, we received a significant increase in applications, each demonstrating outstanding academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, and community service and leadership. Our 2026 scholarship class is an exceptional group of students who went above and beyond during their time in high school,” said Nadia Tellez, Director of Choose to Excel at CREEED. “Each student is committed to making a lasting impact in their chosen field, and we are proud to support them as they take the next steps toward achieving their dreams.”
The 2026 CREEED scholarship recipients will attend the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Texas at El Paso, the University of Texas at San Antonio, New Mexico State University, and Hastings College.
Each scholarship includes a one-time award of $2,500 to help students cover tuition and other college-related expenses. The F.A.S.T. Rising College Scholarship supports graduating seniors from El Paso County’s rural school districts of Anthony, Fabens, San Elizario, and Tornillo, and the Excelencia Scholarship for Future Educators supports students from all school districts across the region who plan to pursue careers in education.
Since launching its scholarship program, CREEED has awarded $67,500 in scholarships to 27 students in El Paso County.
